Current Staff

In addition to being an wonderful place for children, Frog Pond is also a great place to work. Our staff is made up of individuals representing a variety of cultures and ethnicities. The teacher/administrative retention rate at Frog Pond is very high, as we celebrate a diverse, safe and nurturing place to grow as a teacher and childcare professional.

Here is a snapshot of some of our leaders:

FP_Gail_2014Gail Dickert, our Executive Director, partners with the Administrative and Teaching Teams, families, and local community supporters to uphold the mission, remain fiscally responsible, and engage in fundraising, volunteer strategies, board relations, teacher training, and enhancement projects aligned with Mother Nurture Company. She ensures a Frog-Pond friendly follow-through of Conscious Discipline  and promotes the collaborative leadership structure that serves as a model to children and nature educators alike.

Gail joined the Pond in August 2010 and has served as Director of Operations and Director of School Family before accepting the Executive Director role in 2013. Her extensive background in non-profit engagement through the American Red Cross and faith-based organizations, combined with a deep sense of social justice and love of nature inspire her to champion Frog Pond as “The Natural Choice for Early Childhood Education.”

Saba, our Frog Teaching Team Coordinator, implements the Frog curriculum, for the older mixed-aged group of children and is supported by seasoned co-teachers. Saba joined the Pond in 2003 and stands out as a vibrant leader and communicator among her team and in relation to the families.

Sarah, our Tadpole Teaching Team Coordinator, implements the relationship-based Tadpole curriculum, for ages 16 months – 3.5 years and is supported by seasoned co-teachers. Sarah’s tenure with the Pond began in 2018, where she worked in the Frog Classroom as a full-time teacher. She accepted the role of Teaching Team Coordinator Summer 2019 where she thrives as an enthusiastic model for the children and other teachers.

Janel, our Manager of Office/Facilities, is on-site for operational stability in the classroom and on the grounds. She manages scheduling, classroom supplies, and many administrative functions each day. She incorporates her years of Frog Pond experience and marketing skills to support new and prospective families in learning more about our unique approach to early childhood education. Janel joined the Pond in 2010 and continues to find creative ways to solidify the school’s success.

Awatif, our Food Services Manager, has been with the Frog Pond for 13 years. She is relied upon for effective management of our kitchen procedures, where food from Good Food Company is prepared for our children. She also oversees preparation for our two healthy, organic daily snacks and is consistently providing feedback regarding allergy sensitivities at our inclusive center. Awatif is the “morning face” of our school and often refers to Frog Pond as her “family away from home.”

Position Pending: Our Curriculum Manager guides the Teaching Teams towards age-appropriate enhancements of “Bev Bos-style” play and incorporates concepts from the Coyote’s Guide to Connecting with Nature for our kindergarten readiness program. Under his/her/their leadership, Frog Pond maintains a diverse classroom environment and highly evolved techniques for working with all children in our natural world.

Position Pending: Our search is underway for a Director of School Family, who partners with our families and teaching teams to uphold the school philosophy as it relates to everyday and seasonal engagement as a community. This person is the main point of contact for incoming families, licensing regulations, classroom management, and child development.
