Frog Fridays: I’m a Fish

Dear Frog Families,

Today at Morning Meeting Frogs sang a new song called “I’m a Fish.”  It is from Preschool Education, an online resource.  I have listed the song lyrics below (this is sung to the tune of “I’m a Little Teapot”:

I’m a little fishy, I can swim.  Here is my tail, Here is my fin.
When I want to have fun with my friends, I wiggle my tail and dive right in.

Afterwards both Pickerel and Spring Peeper Frogs went outside to Toad Mountain.  Pickerel Frogs made box guitars with Ms. Saba and Ms. Heather (Thank you families for bringing in a lot of boxes).  First, Frogs tore the tops off the boxes and then they attached rubber bands around the boxes.  The box guitars make some pretty neat noises.  Some Tadpoles and I later tried to make the tune match a song!

Spring Peeper Frogs did some weeding and harvesting in the garden.  I pointed out to Frogs what happens when the weeds overtake the garden—the weeds grow over the vegetable plants and take all of the Sun’s energy.  A few Frogs helped me to weed but ALL of the Frogs enjoyed harvesting more Bush Beans.  We have been extremely lucky with our harvest of Bush Beans this year—we collected two more handfuls of Bush Beans today which we will eat at snack!

Frogs and Jumpers enjoyed looking for bugs and Frogs at Toad Mountain.
One group found two tiny Frogs which they put in a terrarium.  Some Frogs enjoyed pretending to be metro trains racing around Toad Mountain.
Several Frogs also made some original music with the box guitars.

Some centers today were Trains and Tracks, House and Plastic People, and Natural Materials and Animals.
