Tadpole Class Nature Journal: Nov. 23, 2010

Today, in honor of Thanksgiving, we sampled whole kernel corn and used cornmeal to make fried corn cakes. The kids loved the whole corn! They also enjoyed feeling the cornmeal and shaping the dough into flattened balls. They at the corn cakes for snack.

We collected beautiful fall leaves and made a glowing collage to hang in our window. We mixed up two kinds of bird seed in a big can and filled the bird feeder so more birds will come to play with us in the yard. The seed was cool and slippery in our hands.
